Why You Will Love These Bacon Wrapped Pork Chops:
- They only require 10 minutes to prep. These bacon wrapped pork chops may look fancy, but they require very little effort. It only takes a few minutes to prep the ingredients, pre-cook the bacon and then wrap the chops.
- Minimal ingredients. pork chops, bacon, maple, garlic, ground mustard–only a handful of simple ingredients for these juicy, crispy, delicious and juicy pork chops make the perfect dinner recipe.
- Pair well with so many dishes. From salads to veggies and everything in between, these pork chops complement so many dishes. We love to serve it with gruyere cheddar mac and cheese and roasted pear salad most of the time. These parmesan roasted green beans and simple honey biscuits also show up at times as well with this dinner.
Recipe Ingredients:
- pork chops: I use boneless pork chops as they are simple to cook, cook up fast and contain more meat than bone-in tend to. Use pork chops that are no more than 1 inch in thickness. Ideally you would use chops that are 3/4 to 1 inch in thickness. Otherwise you need to adjust cooking time. The shape of boneless pork chops are also perfect for wrapping bacon around, so that works perfectly for this bacon wrapped chop recipe!
- bacon: select a thin or standard cut of bacon. Thick-cut bacon will not cook quickly enough for these pork chops.
- ground mustard: ground mustard with the maple syrup is the perfect combo–I highly suggest not skipping this!
- garlic: freshly minced for the most flavor. You can sub garlic powder if you don’t have any fresh garlic.
- maple: pure maple syrup as opposed to pancake syrup. You will not get the same flavor if you don’t use the real stuff. You can also sprinkle a touch of brown sugar over top for even more rich sticky sweetness.
- salt/pepper: sea salt and black pepper to season the pork before wrapping with the bacon. You can adjust the amount as desired.
How to make these Maple Bacon Wrapped Bacon Pork Chops:
- For best results and bacon that is crispy, microwave the bacon strips for about 1-2 minutes on a paper towel lined plate. You want to give the bacon a head start if you want it extra crispy. The bacon used to wrap the above photos was not pre-heated and it did not come out as crispy as those that I have cooked slightly before wrapping the pork chops.
- Season the pork chops with salt, pepper, ground mustard and garlic.
- Wrap two slices of bacon around each pork chop. Try to allow the ends of the bacon to end up on the underside of each pork chop if possible. If not, give it an extra press to keep it in place.
- Place pork chops in a baking dish sprayed with oil, or for extra crispy bacon on both sides, you can use a sheet pan with a wire cooking rack–this can catch the grease and bacon fat below as well.
- Brush the maple along each of the pork chops to cover evenly. Turn the pork chops over to get both sides.
- Bake for about 25 minutes or until they reach an internal temperature of 145°F. You can flip halfway through if desired, but I don’t do this to allow the top bacon to get really crispy. Broil for 2-3 minutes to allow for extra crispiness and then allow to sit for about 5 minutes before serving.
Recipe Tips
- Pork should be cooked to an internal temperature of 145°F – 160°F. This is updated from previous suggestions. Please allow your pork chops to cook to your desired internal temperature. Use a meat thermometer for best results.
- As the pork chops cook, there will be bacon grease that is released. It can make the bacon on the bottom of the pork chops a bit soft. You can put the pork chops on a wire rack or even a broiler pan to allow that to drop below and away from the pork chops. If using a wire rack, an aluminum foil layer on a sheet pan below will make for much easier cleanup!
- You can vary your maple syrup to vary the flavor of these pork chops. I have seen a Bourbon Maple Syrup recently that I know my husband would be a big fan of for sure!
- Keep a close eye on your pork chops in the second half of cooking. You do not want to overcook these bacon-wrapped chops. Pork can go from just right to overcooked pretty quickly. Keep and eye and try to shift to broil when the meat is just at 145°F and don’t over broil.
Storage:
Store leftovers in an airtight container for about 3-4 days in the refrigerator. You can freeze these pork chops as well. Allow them to cool completely and then place in a freezer safe container and freeze for up to 3 months.
If you have an air fryer, reheating leftovers in it is amazing. Air fry for about 3-5 minutes at 350°F. This gets the crispiness back to the bacon better than any other option. You can also reheat in the oven or microwave.
What to Serve With These Pork Chops:
Lots of dishes go well with these bacon wrapped pork chops, but here are a few of our favorites:
- Potatoes pair well with pork chops for sure. We love these Air Fryer Potato Wedges as well as Garlic Parmesan Mashed Potatoes.
- A simple salad. We love a good spinach salad, but also this Shaved Brussels Sprout Salad is a hit with these pork chops.
- Veggies. These Brussels Sprouts with Maple Balsamic Glaze, these Roasted Parmesan Green Beans or my personal favorite, crispy Air Fryer Broccoli.
- Mac and cheese is another dish that will go well. Instant Pot Mac and Cheese or this Gruyere Mac and Cheese are our favorites!

Maple Bacon Wrapped Pork Chops
Ingredients
- 1 ½ lb pork chops (3-4)
- 2 garlic cloves, minced
- 2-3 T maple syrup
- 6-8 bacon strips, uncooked
- ½ tsp ground mustard
- ½ tsp ground pepper
- ½ tsp sea salt (more or less to taste)
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 400°F.
- For best results and bacon that is crispy, microwave the bacon strips for about 1-2 minutes on a paper towel lined plate. You want to give the bacon a head start if you want it extra crispy. **In my 1000 watt microwave it takes 7 minutes for a nice and crispy piece of bacon.
- Season the pork chops with salt, pepper, ground mustard and garlic. Wrap two pieces of bacon tightly around each pork chop. Try to allow the ends of the bacon to end up on the underside of each pork chop if possible. If not, give it an extra press to keep it in place.
- Place pork chops in a baking dish sprayed with oil, or a wire rack on a foil lined sheet pan. Brush the maple along each of the pork chops to cover evenly. Turn the pork chops over to get both sides. Re-set the pork chops evenly and place in the oven.
- Bake for about 25-30 minutes or until they reach an internal temperature of 145°F. (145°F – 160°F is ideal for pork.) Flip halfway through if desired, but I don't do this to allow the top bacon to get really crispy.
- Broil for 2-3 minutes to allow for extra crispiness and then allow to sit for about 5 minutes before serving.

Delicious! Your recipes never disappoint. Not sure why I hadn’t tried this recipe before but it will definitely be on repeat!
Oh thanks for reminding me, Amie, I haven’t made this in a while. And yay to recipes on repeat!
Thanks for the feedback! I adjusted the time for the bacon to be a bit lower just to be safe. All microwaves are different, but I am sorry you lost some of your bacon!
Absolutely Delicious! I didn’t pre cook the bacon, but cooked my one inch-thick bone in chops for an hour and ten minutes, adding water to help them stay moist. I had no dry mustard, so I brushed deli mustard on after the maple syrup. Big hit with the family. Thank you!
Yum!! I need to try with a bone in chop too!
Ugh. So sorry Megan. I know not all microwaves are equal and I should have noted that for sure. 4 minutes in my microwave is cooked but not crispy. Making note of this in the recipe. Appreciate the feedback!
Your photos are AMZING! Sharing with my friends.
Awwww, thank you so so much. This made my day!
