If you grew up on the classic creamy pop, this Jello Pudding Pop Recipe will take you back! Only a few ingredients and ready to pop in the freezer in less than ten minutes. A perfect treat with a variety of flavors to enjoy!
If you grew up in the 80's or 90's, then you had to have had a pudding pop. I LOVED pudding pops. They were my favorite.
Not quite ice cream, but not quite a fruit pop, the perfect frozen treat if you ask me.
I randomly found them at the grocery a few years or so ago, but haven't seen them since. So my solution was to make my own!
Why I love these:
- This pudding pop recipe is so so simple. Make it more simple with Cool Whip even! Whisk everything and freeze.
- You can make these ANY FLAVOR you want. Chocolate, vanilla, butterscotch, you name it, what's your flavor?
- They bring me straight back to my childhood--food nostalgia is the real deal.
What you need to make this recipe:
- I have only used whole milk to make these so I can't speak for any other milk variety. I plan to test other options to see how they turn out, but have yet to do so.
- If you don't want to whip the heavy cream, you can opt for 1 cup of Cool Whip, thawed. I love the real deal though.
- The caramel is optional. I drizzle a bit in the popsicle mold and a little over top. Just a touch is all I needed--but so good!
How to make this pudding pop recipe:
- In a small bowl, whip the heavy cream until peaks form. This will take several minutes.
- In a separate bowl, add the sugar, milk and pudding. Whisk thoroughly until smooth. Add the whipped cream and stir to fully combine.
- Pour into pudding pop mixture into popsicle mold and add a drizzle of caramel if desired. (I also add a bit before pouring the mixture into the molds.) Freeze for at least 4 hours before enjoying!
Notes:
- My popsicle molds have 10 slots. I was able to get about 9 full for the most part. For this pudding pop recipe will certainly vary based on your mold.
- I made this with a bit of vanilla extract as well as without--both were great but I don't think it is 100% necessary so it is listed as an optional ingredient.
- Lots of variations and options. You can use any flavor, you can add a drizzle, dip in sprinkles, add a chocolate shell, stir in chocolate chips--the sky is the limit!

Instructions
- In a mixing bowl, whip the whipping cream with an electric mixer until stiff peaks start to form. (This will take 3-5 minutes)

They didn't taste like the pudding pops from when I was a kid but they were delicious and a little more sophisticated 5 stars and beyond good!

Agree that they are better! I assume all the rich ingredients are to thank!
