The frosé trend (frozen rosé) went full on last year and somehow I did not jump on the bandwagon right away. Why? Not a clue. Maybe I thought I wouldn’t like it, but that can’t be it. What’s not to love about an adult slushie?

I guess I’m not a trendsetter, or maybe I’m just a little behind on things. It’s ok though, because this Watermelon Frosé recipe has me making up for all the lost time!

Whip up this Watermelon Feta Salad too while you have a big melon on hand!

Why You Will Love this Watermelon Frozen Rosé Recipe:

  • It only takes a few minutes to make. Once you have your watermelon frozen, all you need to do is add everything to the blender. Watermelon frose is practically in your cup!
  • Can be frozen for later. This is by far my favorite part of making this recipe. You can make it now and save some for later. It easily freezes in a freezer safe container so you can enjoy it another night if you don’t finish it all the night you make it.
  • So refreshing. The watermelon adds a level of freshness that will quench your thirst on the hot summer days but also pairs so well with the rosé, peach schnapps and lime juice. A summer cocktail everyone will love.
  • It is a cocktail you can eat with a spoon if you want! You can make this watermelon frosé extra thick and eat it with a spoon. A grown up treat indeed!

What you will need:

I made this using a half bottle of Rosé. This allows you to easily adjust to your needs. Big crowd? Double it. Like yours a bit stronger? Add a touch more wine.

I like making it as a smaller batch since it’s usually just me drinking it. Anthony is not much of a watermelon fan so when I make this, it’s all me!

  • Rosé: Choose your favorite! I have made this with quite a few options. I have been loving cans a lot these days as well. Need help choosing? Use this rosé 101 for help.
  • watermelon: The key to this frozen rosé is freezing the watermelon ahead of time. In doing so, it is literally ready to drink fresh from the blender.
  • peach schnapps: This adds a level of flavor to the watermelon frozen rosé that is so refreshing and bright. You could vary and use another flavor liqueur if preferred for varying flavor profile.
  • lime juice: freshly squeezed if possible versus the bottled stuff
Rose, lime, watermelon and peach schnapps.

How to make this Watermelon Frosé recipe:

Did I mention how stupid simple this Watermelon Frosé is to make?? Make sure to freeze your watermelon cubes ahead of time and then do the following:

  1. Pour the rosé, lime juice, and peach schnapps into your blender.
  2. Add the frozen watermelon.
  3. Blend, adjust thickness as desired and pour!

Such a perfect refreshing cocktail that is made with minimal effort. You will be on the patio with your feet propped up in no time with a cold one in your hand. (A cold glass of Watermelon Frose, I mean.)

Can you make this Frozen Rosé recipe alcohol free?

The answer is YES. There are many alcohol free rosé brands to choose from these days. Simply sub in your favorite nonalcoholic rosé and you are all set there. Then opt for a peach syrup over the peach schnapps. Monin brand peach syrup is hands down my favorite.

Recipe Notes:

  • This watermelon frozen rosé will be great in the freezer for several weeks. I will make a big batch and put it in a freezer safe container and scoop it out as I want some. If doing so, let it sit out for at least half hour or so before drinking.
  • I prefer to be able to drink this with a straw. If you want it thicker for a drink you can eat with a spoon, add more watermelon or lessen the amount of liquid.
  • This recipe can easily be doubled. The recipe is a smaller batch cocktail, but you can use a full bottle of rosé versus half and double the other ingredients for a larger crowd.

This is a fantastic summer drink. When I make mine I use Tequila Rose instead of wine and especially RED WINE, it is not something you want to drink if you suffer with severe migraines. So it’s Tequila Rose for me and everyone is totally impressed with this drink 😋😋
Keep posting the wonderful recipes, I look forward to seeing more from you.
