For the Stir Fry
- 2 tsp sesame oil
- 1 lb ground beef
- 3 c broccoli florets fresh or frozen
- 1 cup shredded carrots
- 4-5 green onions chopped
- sea salt to taste
Whisk together all of the sauce ingredients and set aside. Chop and prepare the vegetables.
Heat a large skillet or wok to medium-high heat. Add the sesame oil to the skillet. Add in the ground beef and heat until fully cooked (160°F should be internal temperature.), about 6-8 minutes.
Add in the broccoli, green onion and carrots and cook until heated through and tender. Change the heat to low and stir in the Teriyaki sauce. Simmer for several minutes until ready to serve and allow the sauce to thicken.
Serve over rice or as desired! Store leftovers in the refrigerator for 3-4 days or freeze for up to 3 months.
- Always use a meat thermometer as the best way to check beef’s temperature. Ground beef should be cooked to an internal temperature of 160F. Color is not always a reliable indicator of doneness.
- You can double the sauce ingredients for a super saucy dish. If you like your stir fry extra saucy, I advise you to double the teriyaki sauce. Then slowly add it in until desired sauce level! Save some to add to other recipes as well.
