Course: Smoothie, Snack
Cuisine: American
Servings: 2
- 1 ½ c ripe cubed avocado, frozen* see note
- 1 ½ c raspberries, frozen
- 1½ c vanilla almond milk or milk of choice
- ¼ c cocoa powder
- 2 large handfuls fresh spinach
- 1 -2 T maple syrup or sweetener of choice
- 1 small banana, frozen* see note optional
Add 1 ¼ cup milk to the bottom of the blender. Top with other ingredients. You can wait to add sweetener if desired.
Blend on high until smooth. Add an extra ¼ - ½ cup milk to desired thickness. Add more sweetener as desired--sometimes raspberries need some extra as they can be a bit tart.
Enjoy immediately.
- *If skipping the banana, I suggest increasing the avocado by about 1/2 to 3/4 cup. However, since the recipe starts with only 1 1/4 cup milk, you may be just fine. Lots of wiggle room though if necessary!
- You may not need the sweetener. If your berries are on the sweet side and you are using the banana, it will likely be sweet enough. I suggest blending the smoothie and testing a spoonful before adding it.
