Ingredients

Instructions

  • In a medium bowl, combine flour, cinnamon, baking powder, and sea salt. Stir.
  • Add in the milk, oil, sugar and vanilla and stir to combine. Fold in the grated apple. Allow the waffle batter to rest for about 5-10 minutes if time allows.
  • Pour batter into waffle iron according to the amount yours allows. (Mine was about 1/3 c per section)
  • Cook according to waffle iron or more if more brown is desired.
  • Top with your favorite toppings and enjoy!

Notes

  • You can make your own oat flour easily by blending it in a high powered blender until fine. This is a really cost effective way!
  • Know your waffle iron. My waffle iron is seriously never to be trusted. When it tells me it's ready, I know I still have a couple extra minutes before the waffles are actually ready. This takes time if your waffle iron is new. I find these apple cinnamon waffles always take just a touch longer to cook in general. Run a test waffle to make sure if you would like!
  • Like your waffles extra crispy? Me too!Pop them in the toaster for about 30 seconds before serving. I do this with just about every waffle I make. I am a sucker for crispy waffles. You can also do this in the oven for several minutes for directly on the metal racks.
