Orange + Almond Broccoli Stir-Fry

  • 1/3 c almond butter
  • Juice of 1/2 navel orange
  • 1 tsp orange zest
  • 1 garlic clove minced
  • 1 tsp sesame oil
  • 1 T soy sauce liquid aminos or tamari
  • 1 tsp pure maple syrup or raw honey
  • 2 T water
  • 1/4 tsp crushed red pepper
  • Dash of cayenne pepper optional

Stir-Fry Ingredients

  • 4-5 c broccoli florets fresh or frozen
  • 1/3 c sliced almonds


  • In a mixing bowl, whisk stir-fry sauce together until smooth. Add more water if desired.
  • In a skillet, heat 1 T sesame oil over medium high heat.
  • Add broccoli, and stir-fry until tender and cooked through. (time for this will vary)
  • Once broccoli is cooked, add sliced almonds and stir to toast about (2 minutes).
  • Lower heat to low and add in sauce. Stir to coat broccoli evenly and heat on low for about 3-4 minutes.
  • Serve over rice or other grain and garnish with more sliced almonds and some orange zest as well if desired.
