In a medium bowl, combine flour, cinnamon, baking powder, and sea salt. Stir.
Add in the milk, oil, sugar and vanilla and stir to combine. Fold in the grated apple. Allow the waffle batter to rest for about 5-10 minutes if time allows.
Pour batter into waffle iron according to the amount yours allows. (Mine was about 1/3 c per section)
Cook according to waffle iron or more if more brown is desired.
Top with your favorite toppings and enjoy!
- You can make your own oat flour easily by blending it in a high powered blender until fine. This is a really cost effective way!
- Know your waffle iron. My waffle iron is seriously never to be trusted. When it tells me it's ready, I know I still have a couple extra minutes before the waffles are actually ready. This takes time if your waffle iron is new. I find these apple cinnamon waffles always take just a touch longer to cook in general. Run a test waffle to make sure if you would like!
- Like your waffles extra crispy? Me too!Pop them in the toaster for about 30 seconds before serving. I do this with just about every waffle I make. I am a sucker for crispy waffles. You can also do this in the oven for several minutes for directly on the metal racks.
