Entertaining is all about the food and the company, right? This Cranberry Brie Crostini recipe is sure to be a hit for your next party. Use the homemade cranberry chutney or grab some pre-made (or leftover!) to save time!

Why you will love this Cranberry Brie Crostini:

  • So simple to prep. Whipping up the cranberry chutney is a piece of cake. Other than that you just need to get the bread toasted up with some melty brie and you will be popping these in no time. You can prep the cranberry chutney ahead of time to make for easy last minute cooking before the guests arrive!
  • You can make it using leftovers. Let’s be honest, there will always be leftover cranberry SOMETHING over the holiday season. Don’t toss it, spoon it over these crostini!
  • A crowd pleaser. The brie and cranberry combo will surprise you, it is such a great tart and buttery flavor. A sprig of rosemary for more flavor and also to make the cranberry crostini all the more beautiful.

What you will need:

  • baguette: a fresh crusty baguette, sliced thin, will work best for this cranberry brie crostini
  • brie: go with your favorite brie. For this recipe, a nice splurge from the cheese market will go a long way since the brie is one of the stars of this crostini recipe!
  • olive oil: a nice extra virgin olive oil is ideal
  • cranberry chutney ingredients:
    • cranberries: you will want fresh but frozen can work. Dried cranberries will not however
    • cranberry juice: I use a sweetened cranberry cocktail for this chutney. Orange juice is also a great option.
    • apple cider vinegar: white vinegar can be subbed in but I really love the apple cider
    • brown sugar: sweeten as desired
    • orange zest: the zest gives this chutney a great vibrance, I advise that you don’t omit it if possible
    • cinnamon: this brings a slight spice to the recipe
    • add-ins: apples and golden raisins are my favorite. Pecans are added in the end. You can opt for walnuts if preferred.

How to make the best cranberry brie crostini:

Cranberry Chutney on top of melted brie crostini

To make this simple brie crostini recipe, follow these simple steps:

  • Prepare the cranberry chutney: you can do this a day in advance. Combine all the ingredients into a small saucepan except the pecans. Bring to a boil on medium high and then when the cranberries begin to pop, reduce heat to low and simmer until the chutney thickens. This will usually take about 15 minutes. Remove from heat and allow to cool. Chill until ready to serve.
  • Prepare the Cranberry Brie Crostini: Preheat the oven to 375°F Slice a fresh baguette about 1/2 inch thick pieces. Arrange on a parchment lined baking sheet and brush both sides of each slice with olive oil. Add a slice of brie to each piece of bread (about 1/4 inch thickness). Bake for 5-7 minutes until brie is melted and bread is golden around the edges. Spoon cooled chutney on top and garnish with orange zest, rosemary and chopped pecans.

Such a simple recipe! You really can’t beat it.

Recipe Tips and Notes:

  • This brie crostini recipe is best served immediately. For the warm, melted brie, you will want to get these on a platter to guests as quickly as possible. They will still be ok a bit cooled off, but the sooner the better in my opinion.
  • You can serve the chutney on the side and allow guests to spoon it themselves. If cranberry isn’t for everyone at the party, just place it on the side of the crostini for everyone to spoon over as they dig in.
  • For best results, prepare the chutney in advance. This will give it plenty of time to cool. You will want it chilled when serving it over top. Room temperature is ok as well but you don’t want it hot.
